Wondering why you should save paper? Let’s face it paper is pretty cheap! Well you may not know that paper accounts for more than half of all municipal solid waste so anything we can do to save paper will help reduce the amount of waste going into landfills whilst reducing the energy use and pollution associated with manufacturing, transporting, and recycling new paper products. Perhaps most importantly, in saving paper, we reduce the need to cut down additional trees to make new paper.
Each of the machines supplied by Morgan Brookes has an "energy save" mode so that when not in use it "powers down". Thus the amount of energy needed to support the machine in periods of low activity is substantially reduced by up to 60% or more. It is estimated that 10% of the electricity used in an office environment is used by photocopiers (when they do not have this feature).
